Hi all,I changed the cassette drive belts on my ed90 but when I reasembled the unit ,it will play in the forward direction & fastforward as normal but will only play for two seconds in reverse direction before stopping the cassette,the same goes for rewind.It does this on both decks ,so I assume it's a common dinominator? I checked& double checked that the belts are routed correctly!
any advice realy appreciated

Never mess with these decks, unless, you are a qualified panasonic tech. They are very hard to get right. The dt75, and 707, are also very hard to work on. I have alway`s left well alone.

Ok thanks for the info,maybe I can find a ed77 with working decks and do a transplant!or on the other hand leave well alone!luckly both decks on my 75&707 work perfectly.

You might get luck jack, or, the ed90 may have a slighly uprated deck, but, with same fittings. The 707 & 75, are real workhorses.
