hi guys....got the 990 going but tape deck No 2 aint working.....changed belts and regreased but motor wont start when play/rw/ff is pressed....motor works as iv tested it.......this is the 2nd one iv got and both seem to have the same probs............any ideas

I'll bet there's a fusible resistor inline that has blown. A common problem with many boomboxes that have snapped belts. When the motors run forever, those resistors overheat and blow.
