m90 tape speed

masterblaster - 2008-04-28 08:01

I'm working on my m90 right now and I want to adjust the tape speed. I had some work done on it and I didn't really test it out after and now I notice that it is playing a bit slow. Is there a tape speed adjustment somewhere on the board or do I have to adjust ONE of the motors manually? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There is a hole in the back of the main motor to ajust speed hope this helps.

Hey Rimmer,
which one is the main motor? Is it the one that I can access without having to take the mechanism apart?

Ford, I finally started the strip down last night and I have a bunch of pics. I will post them as soon as its all back together. I resprayed the grills and got rid of some crazy dirt. Its looking really good.

Thanks Rimmer,
I've seen the bit that you are talking about. Do you know which direction to turn it? I guess I need to turn it while the motor is working...

Hey, MB whatever you do take a wite out and mark the original position of the tape speed adjuster or better yet take a picture of it. This way you know it's factory settings.

Less wear and tear on the play functionality, more stable mechanism since it isn't all interdepenant on one motor and cams/gears for all functions, better dampening typically.

Usually clockwise is faster counter to slow it down.

Done. I have always found this to be a very helpful place. Thanks for the tips. I will post pics as soon as I get it back together...
