Hi everyone-As you know I'm restoring a 777 & Fm & Sw work fine.
Now I do have less than half masts-(Broken Ant.)but they pick up FM & SW good.But AM & LW I haven't had luck getting in yet. There is some scratchy noise when I switch back from AM & LW but still no signals yet.
Is there something special to look for on this??

There is 2 Ant. the left one is FM & SW & the Ant. on the right says Rod. Is that the one for AM?-I thought it was an internal antennae.
I'm thinking also possibly it could be a dirty switch,when I first powered it up the switch was kind of dirty getting Fm & Sw to get in but there fine now.
I'd appreciate any advice on getting my AM going-Is there any thing I can test or look for.
Is this at all common.
I just want to get the other 2 bands going.I'm thinking if the other 2 are going it might not be to serious(Hopefully)
If it's potentiometer or switch cleaner which one do I get??
I'm assuming I can get it at Radio Shack.

I don't know about anyone else's 777s on here but the AM/SW reception on mine has always been very poor also.

hi i have an m90 that suffered from the same problem i used deoxit,sprayed some in the pushbotton switches and it started to work fine you may want to try cleaning it with deoxit make sure you get it in the switch itself trying to spraying it from the outside will not work most likely opening her up and looking for the band switch and see if that helps......

I know that the only way to really clean those variable resistors(potentiometers) & switches is to have it open.
