Hi everyone-I'm so psyhed-I have my Gf777-H & I only need one tape deck door.I also need 2 grills.I think I know where to buy these.

This thing works great!!
The only issue I have is Tape 2 (the right side) is stuck in the play position.I'm about to take the back off & open up the psarcophosofghous!!
Is there anybody that might know right what to look for?? I'm thinking it's a release spring or something of that nature.
Tape 1 works fine!!
I just love this thing-It's cleaning up real nice!
I also need 2 antennaes if anyone knows where to get originals or if anyone has even 1 that would be a start.
I'm just amazes that I got this thing for 69.00!! Sometimes you do get lucky.
I think that with some tender care & a cassette door I'll be in buisness.
Let me know on this about the tape being stuck-especially if anyone has had this issue.

I did It!!
I got in there and was switching the buttons with the back off & the power on & I got it to go back to the stop position!!
I fixed it-it was stuck.
The mechanisms are sticky-I'm just working it right now.
It stuck again but if I turn the motor by the spindle it goes again.Is there a lube that I should use in there??
Now evertyhing works-I just have to get a tape door & some antennaes.
I'm cleaning & I'll have some pictures of 'before' tonight.The 'after' will be by next week.
I'm happy to have fixed this thing myself.

I found out how to make this work now.
It's tape 2 (the right tape) that sticks when you hit play.If you hit F.F. or Rewind then hit play-it won't stick.I'll just have to do that until I figure how to get the mechanism adjusted or greased.
If anyone knows of any tips let me know.
I'm a little weary of removing the tape deck part from the back.
This way it will work until I fix it for the long haul.

Glad to hear you got it working again (at least somewhat). It almost sounds like a belt issue. The only way to know for sure is to open it up and get in there. I've got instructions in PDF format to help you get to the cassette mechanism if you follow the link in my signature for "manuals and more."

Hi Fatdog-Thanks for that,when I get a little more time-I'll do that.
Right now I need those parts I talked about.
If you or anyone has a good tape door & or antennaes let me know.
When I opened it up it was all original.
One more thing-every control works as it should except the balance.
Any ideas on that??
No major because it sounds great but that's the only knob that doesn't seem to be working correctly.

I wish I could get a perfect silver finish paint for this-a few marks of wear on the top and around the band knob.

The more I work stuff the better it is.I'm betting this thing sat around for about 10-15 years!!
The sound is ridiculous!!!!!-Now I know what all the hype is about.

Ghettoboom, for touch up paint, you will need to find Model Master 1790 or Tamiya X-11. If you bought enough of it and used a really good airbrush system, you could probably repaint the entire box.

Hey-I tried e-mailing him to about the grills-he hasn't e-mailed me back & it's been 2 days.
I tried e-mailing him again-I don't want to deal with someone who doesn't reply back.
I don't like that he's from China & the shipping is as much as the item!
I'm going to try to find them somewhere else.

Hi ghettoboom777. The bass from my GF-777 is ridiculous, but sadly the highs are not so great. What about yours?

Hi-my tweeters are working great-I have the treble up to about 85%.
My potentiometers need cleaning a little.They're not staticky but the balance was a bit dirty.Wasn't working at first but now it's fine.
The only thing about mine is the AM doesn't seem to be picking anything up.The short wave & f.m. are fine even though my antenaes are broken.
The am has a built in antennae I believe so I'm going to be checking that out this weekend.
