Hi all,
I have a TRK8200:

& I want to use the line-in with an iPod or whatever. The line-in is a 5 pin DIN type, as discussed in this post:

I guess if I buy this (on eBay) adaptor, two of the RCAs will be the right ones?

paul --the DINS are often a tad 'tricky'
that 5 pin set-up seems most common for european boxes --
most likely -- the 4 rca plugs are there for both record and playback of an external tape deck --
so that DIN is set up as both line-in and line-out.

but - its possible that your box is not wired (the internal pin connectors) for record / line out.

SO.... yes - two of those rca plugs should be the line-in to your box --

and at THAT LOW PRICE -- its worth a shot

The TRK8200 has a switch:
Radio / Tape(off) / Line In
& when set to line in, it runs the amp without engaging the tape drive or motor.
so I'm hoping it'll work like a standard line-in.
I've paid my money down for one - I'll let you know when it arrives...

yup - thats what you guys call a "proper" line-in
--and until you get the cable -- lets assume it will work

Couple of my boxes won't accept any input via DIN for some reason no matter what I do..

2steppa --that might mean that your box DIN pins are wired up for output/record to external deck only.

Yep, that was my suspicion RBJ, oh well I'll stick with the horrible I-trip FM for those boxes I guess....

And if you press in the record from the tapedeck?
Still nothing?

Nothing with play pressed, not sure if I've tried record/pause though, might hook up the Condor later and give it a spin...

That cable I bought turned up & it works just fine with the TRK8200 (using the red & the black socket). I had AC-DC's "Black Ice" album hammering out of it (I'm going to see them next week)

Damn, the TRK8200 is loud when pushed near to it's limits. A real shouter...

sounds like a good one, that box looks like a few sanyos with those vu's on the bottom
