Need a little help...
What is happening here is that the right channel crackles and pops with no real power output. You can hear the audio signal along with the noise on tuner, tape, aux, and phono functions.
Left channel is solid on all inputs.
When transferring balance to the left, the right goes silent as it should. If you turn it to the right, the left continues with no loss instead of going silent and sound is from both channels. (Right channel still crackling though.)
Both speakers are fine. Speaker connections are via RCA type plugs and both are tight to the chassis as they should be and clean.
Cleaned all controls to be sure, checked for loose connections, solder joints, wires and possible evidence of a half-a**ed attempt at a repair. All is as it should be.
Now what?
that sounds like it could be the balance control that has gone faulty rather than the amp.
Looks like the amp chip is blown.
Mine has the same problem.
Got to look into that. The 9000 is a hard nut to crack. Metal all around everything.

Thanks Kitt. Forgot to do that. I'll check.
I stole a moment to check issues using headphones and it does the same on those also.
