Hi sorry to bother everyone, but I am not very good at this!

I have a TRK-510E, it is a little tape player with one speaker abd one motor, however when I press play only one of the tape spools turns?

Is there supposed to be a belt to turn the second one?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Without a cassette inserted, only one spool will turn (the take up spool) the other is the supply reel spool which only turns of it's own accord for rewinding purposes.
If only one turns with a tape in, then the take-up spool isn't running and presumably the tape gets 'eaten' as the capstan will still turn and you get the classic 'tape wound around the pinch roller' scenario.

Thanks guys, opened it up and only has one belt and I've just replaced it! Although now it makes a whirring sound it is working!

I didnt realise those little bits of elastic where so expensive! Thanks again!
