Hello Guys,

I recently picked up a nice 8200 from a site member which needs a little bit of work to be 100% again. Since I have seen how belts are changed and have a good idea how the process is, I am not too concerned about the technicality of the repair. What I am concerned about is being able to locate these belts for this unit!

I found this cool website a long time ago called partstore.com. I used to get OEM parts for some Yaesu and Kenwood radios I had at the time, and the prices were reasonable I thought..However, I went on there and there are 3 varieties of the 8200, and there is only 1 belt available!

But if there is a will, there is a way- Does anyone here have a good belt source to recommend? I am not sure if Hitachi would support this unti if I called their customer service line- I figure they would probably laugh into the phone and then ring off!

Kinda reminds me of the lady at the iPod store who laughed at my iPod when I needed a battery change...It's only a Generation 4 I know, but maybe I LIKE being retro!
