I have found a GF-787 thats in reasonable shape except that it has corrosion in the batery compartment. Is there anyway to clean that stuff off plasitc?

i sometimes use deoderant,spray it on it,leave it for a minute or so,spray it again,then wipe it off..also,i get a washing up sponge/scourer,and a bit of soapy warm water,then give it a scrub,and get a tooth brush for the corners..hope that helps..
