Guys i do have a problem with my new
Sharp 5p-37G.
It's about the volume.
Both sliders are at "0" and music still playing on right channel rather loud. While the left channel is quite.
If i slide them it will only get louder.
( also left channel will start at rather loud volume after starting at "0" )
So asking, is this a problem of the amp or may there be another solution?
Thanks for any input/help.
Best regards,
Felix
Sounds like the slider pots are out of whack. Try a electrical contact cleaner. If that dose not work, replacement might be in order. My experience has showed me that slider potentiometers are not as reliable as rotary types and they seem to go out faster than rotary type, they are more prone to contamination from airborne particulates. Hope this helps.

thanks czrem..I tried it with electrical contact cleaner but still do have the same problem.Think i need to replace them
let's see what i can do.
Thanks for the help!!
yeap you need to replace them unless you can open them up and look to see the trace on the volume board--had a hitachi do a simular thing and i opened it up just to find a piece of the trace missing so i went and bought a circuitwriter pen and added the trace that was missing all good now--but remember it may be bad also just for incase--
It hapenned to me too, with the last JVC I've serviced. I used contact clenar, and nooise dissapeared, but the main issue was still there.
At min volume position, power was about a half.
Turning up raise more the power.
I take the pot apart and found that there was a great resistance betwen the metal contact and the start of the "carbon" band. It was damaged.
I replaced it, in that case was a common rotary logaritmic pot, nothing special.
