I was just curious if any of you have ever tried using RIT DYE to restore your speakers back to former glory (looks wise anyways).
I saw somewhere on here about spray dye from duplicolor but was a little nervous about taping off or trying to cover the chrome dome.
I used a little foam applicator brush and turn my oven on 170 degrees (to bake them dry 1-2 minutes tops) and applied about 3-4 coats and got them looking pretty good.
I will post pics later. Just curious if you all have ever done it. Might help someone as I was able to get right up to the "dome" and have a pretty fresh looking speaker after words..
I am making a camping radio with a spare D8444 (just sits in my garage, just got a new/used FM tuner board and I'm installing it tonight.. though it be neat to take on our camping trip and maybe generate some conversations.
Thanks for reading.
