hi all, i need some help with my vz 2000
the left channel is dead, also dead on the headphones, also the radio is tempermental some times the signal is good and sometims poor or none at all. thanks
geoff if the amp chips are bad i might have some from my old vz scrapper i might have the tuner board too im not sure but i will look if i have them there yours free .
i just looked i have both amp chips and the tuner board assembly just let me know if you need them.

Hey geoffhartwell,
your radio signal problem is due to the radioband selection switches. U need to get at them and spray them with contact tuner cleaner.
This is a typical problem with the VZ-2000, I always do this even if there´s no problem.
By the way it´s not that easy though, you have to take out the tuner board to get at the switches properly. Good luck.

thanks man, will normal contact cleaner do, and what does the band selector look like

well should be OK to use normal contact cleaner, give it a try anyway.
The band select switches are to select FM,AM SW etc, and there all in a row on the tuner board.
They're actually a sealed type switch (like most tuner band switches)to prevent them getting dirty, because of the extreme small signals flowing through them, but unfortunately the're not 100% sealed. They're white colored switches, and its difficult to get the contact clener to penitrate inside to the contacts.
