Yesterday i tried to repeat a song and then I realised, that the APLD function didn't work anymore. A day before it worked. The LEDs light up and I can select how many tracks I'd like to jump, but the tape doesn't stop between the songs and the numbers don't count from 7 down to 1, it stays on the selected number.

Does anyone know what this is?

Make sure that you are using Deck 1 for APLD. Only Deck 1 uses APLD. Oh, yeah, it's also very picky when looking for the silent gap. Anything less than two seconds is usually skipped.

follow fatdogs advice other than that it sounds like the solanoid has jammed.

the gap on every tape i used was always more then 4 seconds, I'm sure for that, and i know that it don't find the breaks then. On deck B there is only cueing, the APLD LEDs then don't light, only when you press the APLD Buttons under the LEDs.

what's a solanoid, and if it's jammed, is it possible to get a new or working one?
