Fixing a Sharp VZ 3500

alexis - 2008-11-11 06:02

Hi All,

I recently bought a non-functioning Sharp VZ 3500 for £4.90 in the UK, as my first repair project.

I would firstly like to thank this site for all the information I have been able to gather. I have changed the entire turntable a needle drive belts and it is working fine.

I am now having difficulty finding out what size Pinch Roller I need to finish the tape deck, can anybody help?

Just the speakers to go. Thanks to “Gettoman” I have recently read some information needed to finish that job.

Hey Alexis, welcome aboard! Congratulations on getting the VZ-3500 working again.

You can choose from a list of parts for the VZ-3500 at:

Here's a link to download the service manual for a VZ-3000 (there shouldn't be too many drastic differences between the two models):

Chancenelli,

Cheers! I would like very much. Are you sure you don't want something for them? No worries with the pinch roller, found one in the US, thanks all the same.

More than happy to pay P&P.

Hi isolator42,

Thanks it was my first Ghetto Blaster, when I was in my teens. Pick another one up about a year or so ago.

I Agree

I´m fixing one up for my girlfriend and there is
one thing that has me abit confused on page 16,
Positional adjustment of rest position detector switch.
It says: "turn the drum so that its point B shown in fig. 16-2 is in the position shown in fig. 16-3.

As far as I can see fig 16-3 doesnt even have the drum in the illustration and shows the tonearm solenoid!!Typo? Or am I just dumb..
I´d guess they mean turn the drum so point B is in the position shown in 16-2...
If someone feels like checking and see if they understand I´d be thankfull!
