Does anyone know the size of the foam surround for the passive radiator on the Aiwa CS-880? Thanks.
looks like 6 1/2
but first send a pm to skippy
ok...isn't it just a piece of aluminum with foam on the back and a foam surround? I am going to try and fabricate one because mine is missing.
with your $$ so good against ours try
http://www.speakerbits.com/Default.aspxor
http://www.totalrecoil.com.au/and use passive as your search key on speakerbits.. to all others reading try these sites for any surround you might need..
Geezum crow, I wish I knew speakerbits did passive radiators when there were a couple of CS-880's that went for under AUD$150 on ebay this year with rotted ones... oh well. Least I know for next time.
Rock On.
I appreciate the links, but I am trying to get as original as possible...the CS-880 I believe had a flat passive radiator as opossed to a "speaker" looking one...Too bad there is nothing left to mine or I would have it rebuilt. Still looking for the correct surround size if anyone has replaced it....Thanks.
email the dude @ speaker bits he might have something "out the back" lots of stock built up over the years he has been open, the store inventory is of stock that is still avalible for him to order.. I know that Tom the owner restores old radios and thats how the business started.. will not hurt to try..
ok...how about this....can anyone measure the aluminum center of the passive radiator and I will try and cypher the foam surround size based on that...
cali -- its about 4 5/8 --
still will guess that skippy has his all apart -
so he will have the accuracy
The woofers on the CS880 are 5 9/16" according to the official Aiwa literature.
the passive radiator is 6 3/4" or 170mm according to the 880's owners manual
