I found this unit at the Value Village where I find all my boxes as of lately. I took it apart to clean the body, and now as I try to put it back together, I find myself unable to remember how the tuning string part is assembled. There are 4 pulleys and the main know pulley, and this string that supposedly goes around it all and turns the frequency know on the other board on top of it. I tried as many different configurations as I could think of but none of them worked. Anyone know what I'm blabering about? The unit is Lloyds V444 in case anyone has any pics. I'll try to get some soon, maybe someone can help me in the mean time. If not just let me know you'll be there when the pics are heh.
really by the looks of it you need to i think you may need to keep the string stright right into the top grouve of the black wheel as you lower the board as soon as it goes in you should be able to move the dial
I have arranged the string in this way so it may not be correct either, it just seemed to be the best way I could figure out so far. I find the problem lies with having too much slack in the string when I lower the board, so I can't tune anything. Man, this is what I get for trying to clean a box
I feel for you Stretch, it's too bad you did not take pictures of it first before starting your project.
dont feel too bad man. i mean its crappy but i completely decimated one of the nicest aiwa mini boomboxes known to exist buy doing exactly the same thing.
i feel your pain
As I was doing it I though about taking pics, but figured it wouldn't be that hard to remember
If nobody here has seen this type of system before that can help, I can only hope my father will shed some light on this fiasco tomorrow. Then I'll show some pics of it together
