does any of you guys know if i could use body parts from a GF9494 to fit a GF9696 ?e.g the top panel and glass from cassette door ? thanking you :-)

Normally yes but these are a bit different than i have had before,dont know much about them and what can be swapped on what,i have owned about 4,or maybe 5 GF9494 since the 80s but the last one i had was years ago, maybe 1990-91,so i was hoping someone had both boxes and could have a gander at both and see if it could be done..i do know that the cassette door glass looks like it could be swapped,but the top panel i dont know..

They both, door and top panel  fit to 9696, but have different lettering:

'APLD' logo on 9494' door -- and 'METAL' badge on the 9696.

9494 has tape selector on the top, and 9696 has FM-muting switch on this place.

Thank you metad,i'm very suspicious of your knowlege,are you sure you never worked for sharp in the 70s and 80s ?  how old are you ? 30s,40+ ?

i dont mind about those slight differences on the top panel and front cassette glass,aslong as it makes my 9696 nice..i will never wreck a good 9494 though,they are a nice box,it would have to be blown up,have lots of issues or in poor state for me to break one up..
