As I was opening this for the first time back when as seen by the date code in the picture - Notice the drive belt for the cassette tape counter!?  It's a rubber-band like to kind you would find when you get your morning newspaper!!  So I am fairly certain that I have not been the first person inside of this box BUT Before I Opened this box and took all of these pictures the Box worked as perfectly as it could except for it needing some kind of fix for the cassette deck to work properly which is why I opened this up to see what was wrong or needing fixing, and as the VERY First time I Played this ( Before I opened this up later as shown in these pictures ) and Turned up the Volume for the FIRST time I witnessed the Woofer Surround's disintergrating playing some Music from the radio before my eyes...

No , I havnt changed the speaker's in it yet ... back when i had money ( or a regular income unlike now ) I paid a really high price to obtain one of these nearly $800.00

Presently I have a ongoing offer for $300.00 as it is right now... from somebody - that i havnt taken advantage of as i have been waiting untill I had enough extra $$ from the sale of the rest of the bbx's to take this over to Allen's speaker reconing shop and let him repair these 2 speaker's for me  as he has repaired other speaker for me in the past and he will NOT repair anything smaller than 4 inch's speaker and that's where Most of these boombox's their speaker's starting at sizewise...These in this aiwa are exactly 5 inch woofers - so they should be repairable

So if i ever have the extra time and $ I'll get this fixed and then sell it to recoup more of what i paid for it hopefully ...

twas one of those box's i bought on the Good faith of all that the seller stated in the listing to the point that by the time I had recieved it - i didnt have time to open it and check it out thoroughly

as i still have that box over there --------------- yes that one right over there under that shelf ------------- see it over there ----------- unopened since i dont even remeber when - yes i know what box is in there ... as I have five of them .... and I dont ever really like this model of jvc even though it is supposed to be a classic one of the first few ever boombox's styles ever manufactured... nuff about that one ... back to the 880 here it's ok ... as I bought a lot of these on the hype of what some people said about these and my natural curiosity to see one up close and the only way that is gonna happen in my lifetime to to buy one and then make a video of it unlike the rest of the turr uh poeple that just give you lots of text to read about with no really good picture's of visuals with sound's but i feel i do that or try to do so with my limited camera resources
