Sharp GF-525: to fix or sell as-is?
paddbear - 2011-12-06 05:08
I have a Sharp GF-525 that used to belong to my Dad. It has been sitting in my attic for several years. The radio still sounds great, and the cassettes sound great when they work, however both cassette drives have developed a habit of "eating" tapes - they stop playing, and when you extract the cassette, there is a loop of loose tape hanging out of it.
So now to my question. Is this likely to be worth fixing? Or should I just try and sell it as it is? I've tinkered with electronic stuff in the past, but not sure I want to spend a lot of time on this one ...
Thanks for any advice!
Frank

the sad thing is neither box is worth anything on ebay right now
keep hold of it fix it enjoy it
I bought a mint 525 and 555 for less than 25 quid - and as already said - they're not bass monsters but do have a quality feel - if not a classic boombox look
