Anyone help me,i have a play botton stuck on my sharp tv/radio cassette player.

I have tryed just about everything i can.

I don't know this model, but I suspect this means a belt has snapped, meaning there is no drive to disengage the tape heads. Does it still play when powered up?

Am not sure,i will plug it in to test it. What happend is i pressed play to check before i braught,but didnt put a tape in and i had left the lid closed.When i went to press stop,it just wouldn't budge. the tv and radio work fine lol. just pluged it in after leaving it under the stairs for 3 years and nothing happining now.

Have you tried pressing the other buttons a few times?... maybe it would help disengaging it....

Not sure whats going on with this box,ok tape is running. I pressed play with the lid closed and with no tape in. Now i cant press stop to relesse the play botton. Any help please. . .

sounds like drive belt assisted control butttons and if the belt is broken that operates the buttons that operate the deck - You simply gotta replace that belt - ask some people about their Aiwa tpr-990's  and the gearbox...
