when i press play the deck sounds like a bunch of chipmunks singing...was working fine then i pressed FF while tape was playing to utilize the music search scanner and she got stuck on the chipmunk theme...can someone help me?

What box is doing this? It might help the diagnosis.

@BB I'd start with a thorough cleaning of the capstan and pinch rollers. Then maybe look into see if there is a speed adjustment on the motor or PCB.

Start with the cleaning first!!

It's possible that the deck is still stuck in search mode, or something broke. Try working the deck without a tape, play-ff-rw, a few times.

Probably needs the speed pot changing....with the correct one.....this is a common issue with boxes like radio raheems radio.....forgive me i cant think of the model at the moment

well i took the radio apart and sprayed it with deoxid and it worked and the backround radio dial light also came on    go figure...this is some good stuff...i quess the radio needed to work the dust out....she is working better than when i first got it...thank you so much guys for your help...
