Hi.

Can anybody give me a heads up on what these Pots do on these circuit boards. Ive got a feeling they tweak certain parts of the CS880, but which parts?????

U notice the various coloured pots with the adjustment dials in the centre. WHAT DO THEY ADJUST??????

Glen, It seems you won't be happy with it until you have wrecked it!

I suspect you are looking for more 'gain' in the amplifier. If you do find something that will achieve it; the rest of the 30 year old circuitry will more than likely cook itself. Is this a risk worth taking?

It's a ghettoblaster glen...not a home hifi....have to agree with nick here.....most of those pots are tuner and recording deck pots...i suggest you leave alone.....

Hahahahahahahhaaha calm down Nick who said anything about wrecking just asked what they (Pots) adjust. Come on now do u really think im gonna wreck a ghetto blaster that ive invested in heavily???
Pleeeeeeeeease... I paid nearly 500 € for the Aiwa.if u wanna talk bad about somebody u should be talking bad about the Asshole who sold it to me.
All im doing is making and adjusting the mistakes hes done on it

Like NickFish and radio raheem already suggested: Those are oscillator pots, and they are mostly used for calibrating the radio section and the frequency of the erase head. Tweaking them wouldn't result in a louder box, but in a misaligned radio that can't receive well or a eraser head that wouldn't erase well enough.
