Interesting post , I sprayed my entire JVC line today , my RC M90 and RC 656 had very bad static on the left channel, I used Suzuki Electrical Contact Cleaner ( I own a bike ) with a straw removing all the knobs, Volume , Balance , Bass , Treble and sprayed directly into them, plus the other function switches . Worked like a charm right away .. been many years ...since I done this ..................thanks for the post it is very important in the general care and performance of our machines .........Respect
PS: saved me a visit to my local stereo tech shop...

Where does the switch cleaner go?
Prefer's to spray 'IN' to the Slider or Potentiometer, work either back-n-forth;
1. cleaner, then compressed air, - work either back-n-forth.
2. Dexoit Gold, then compressed air - work either back-n-forth.
3. shortest spray of Dexoit ! and Done !
Prefer to finish off with Some kind of LUBE like Dexoit provide's in their formulation, rather than just leaving the (Slider or Potentiometer) bone dry to possibly go bad faster because of lack of Lubrication
I too, have a Bike but I only Use the bike stuff on the bike

My bike service products are usually used on my bike however in this case there should not be any questions or doubts 'comments',especially from the immediate results my RC M90 sounds (Great) like the day of my purchased in August 1983 .
