Speaker Wires

Did a search but did not find anything. Do you guys think if it would make a difference changing the speaker wires to a thicker diameter / lower gauge?

 thanks

Hate to annoy any audiophiles out there, but I think you won't notice the difference on a ghetto blaster. The only possible difference to come into play will be if you're using long runs, say maybe two metres (6 foot) or more per speaker, and then only if your going from the thinnest "bell wire" to 79 strand.

As a percieved audiophile, there is a negligible amount of un-restrainment of power transferred via larger wire from the amplifier to the speaker by using larger wire than orginal wire used in orginal design.

In the very low power of amplifier's used in boombox's, changing the wire to a lower gauge may make a difference only in your wallet

I'm with the rest: On such a short distance, it doesn't make a difference. The only practical advantage that a thicker cable has, is that it's more sturdy and less likely to break.

Makes sense, thanks!

yeah the shorter the length of wire the better suitability for a portable
