My Panasonic RX-5150 tape player works fine, but when i play a cassette sound only comes out of the right speaker. When playing fm radio sound comes out of both speakers like it should. any ideas on what is going on

One of my sanyo's are doing the same thing. I think it's a dirty selector switch. A sharp mini compo i have did it too and i flushed out the switch with deoxit and now it works fine. Give it a try.

thanks that did the trick!! also noticed the pinch roller was badly gunked up so i took a qtip and cleaned it good with alcohol. amazing how after 32 years this panasonic still works good. outstanding quality from panasonic
