Pioneer gets new belts finally!

Finally! Tommorow morning my Pioneer SK-909 belt marathon starts! I reserved three whole days to refit new belts in the box. I have the feeling this is going to be a hell of a job, but it would be awsome to have a working tape deck in this beast! 
I'm highly motivated at the moment! Can't wait to start!

the only pioneer ive ever attempted was an sk353 and i almost ruined it
but it went back together in the end-and that was the problem....the deck was ok-ish but it was getting the deck back togerther and the cabinet back together afterwards....nightmare!!!!!!!!!!just take your time with it M and you will be ok-but if tim says it can be done in 45 then it can be,your way better at repairs than me tim lad

I hope I get everything back again indeed andy. I'm not in a hurry, but this box really s@cks for repairs! Am I allowed to say that lol...

she's running! After all it wasn't so bad. The tape deck itself isn't really complicated. Cleaned and lubricated it, got the new belts on and now the deck runs like new. Had to solve a cracked gear, but didn't have to to make a new one fortunately. Glue solved it...
I leave the bare chassis running tonight to let the deck stabilize. So I can adjust the speed tomorrow. The auto rewind feature is very usefull now
Yep Chris, I really need a diagram for al the screws with this one. It has so many mounting point just amazing.

If I ever find a beat up 909 I'm going for the chassis only with a self made perspex body! I like how it looks like this.
Now in perfect state, 100% working and cleaned inside and outside! A very rewarding job.

nice boombox, doing one's own repair and cleaning is a great time, and if the end result is a fully functioning boombox, wow ...that is fun fun fun
