Sharp GF refurb part 1!

So Neil/Schneil picked up this wreck of a Sharp GF9191XE with the plan that I swap this deck with his then I get the wreckage thats left to have a play with...its all semi-working but its a mess with cracks, bits missing, posts broken, tape door hinges bust etc...just how I love em
So this is part 1 which is the back casing
So from the front it doesn't look too bad
The top plate is missing several lugs so its not secured properly
Turn it around and you can see just how bad it is...filthy, smashed, bad repairs with glue marks, bits missing
Aerials bust and the casing around the front side of them missing completely
With the whole box stripped apart it looks no better
The only part rattling around the bottom of the box was the missing aerial clip so that was handy!...have built up the missing pieces with various bits of plastic sculpted to shape using the good old dremel tool, then car bodywork filler, then losts of sanding. It was pretty tricky as the biggest missing part was the indented bit and the bit around the aeriel clip...took some working out that one did! Had to rebuild several of the lugs and strips around the edge that hold the front casing in place too...it'd clearly had a bit of a fall lol
I've not aimed for perfection as its only the back of the box and its taken a lot of hours to get here.
A bit more sanding with wet sandpaper then a couple of coats of primer
A few coats of black gloss then a few more of clear lacquer.
Pretty pleased with the outcome...definitely a bit more presentable than how it was at the beginning! Now to start on the front!!

Its not easy getting filler to match small complicated areas but so far so good
in fact there's a couple of rust patches on my old beemer I'd like you to take a look at

nice work!
Will have to do the same to my Crown SZ 5100... my back is also broken, i will use fiber glass on the whole part and also trying to sculpt it to the original shape.
Good work

If i were in your postition i would of made it a replica
of the Clash 9191 if you know what i mean ,(if possible)
plain black is boring and just silver doesnt say much !
On the other hand a nice graffitti 9191 would of be
great site to see !
