Wish I had better lighting and steadier hands...
I'll admit, the pictures came out kinda good tho... Could be much better, in my opinion.

Thanks, man!
That's a very expensive new hobby/addiction I've picked up in the past few months... I used to draw as a kid and always thought that the Japanese made the best animation out there. For awhile, I used to copy their style. Now that technology has caught up with the art, you can buy a figure that looks
exactly like the character in the anime. The funny thing is, if it weren't for the Adult Swim anime line up, I would've only copped the Mazinger Z ('cause Tranzor Z was a fave of mine in the 80's) and stuck to the old school stuff (StarBlazers, Voltron, Transformers, etc.).

I've yet to get a cold cast figure - heard they're heavy as hell and much more expensive than PVC.
As for the pictures you seen, I had to go back edit 'em with the magic of iPhoto 'cause they came out so dark. They look much better now!
Thanks again.

great pics man, the combination of awesome boxes and the figures is great. those figures are crazy expensive but the execution of them is off the hook.
i have seen a few i really wanted..
Nice pics Monolithic!
Super Awesome, thanks for posting those up!!
super!
Nice attention to color Monolithic. You definitely have an artistic sense.I'm very interested in seeing what else you come up with.A few years ago I saw some pictures on a model car forum that included Japanese figures.I was so impressed I decided to pick up some of these myself for the same purpose. For a few years,I continued to add figures to my collection.Initially they were all around the size comparable to 1/18th scale cars(It's amazing the things the Japanese put into their vending machines!).These were typically either PVC capsule figures or,more often,in the larger random boxed collector series of miniatures. In all cases the detail was quite amazing!Eventually I got into some of the larger scale figures as well.My car and figure collecting stopped around the time I found Stereo2go.
About a year ago,I decided to unpack some of my older figures to sell on Ebay.At the time,I was taking a lot of boombox and radio pictures so I tried combining the two in some of the pictures. They didn't turn out quite as nice as yours though. Most were closeups of the figures themselves with various boombox and radios as backdrops. In many cases, this made the boxes look massive! Here's one of these pictures i recently found:
Alot of boomboxcollectors also collect dolls!
Superb...
And that General box is super cool, looks like a Lloyds box that I had my eye on once upon a time.
Fantastic Photos!!!
The bbx almost look like buildings the way you have them set with the action figures...
Thanks everybody for the kind words!
And
blah blah blah - love that avatar!

She's a sweet one - looks like she can change the tuning band with her stiletto!
How many figures do/did you have? Did you sell 'em all?
Glad you like the pics,
Jovie.
My next shoot is going to be... very interesting!

"Dolls" are toys that you play with... Figures are only meant to be displayed and looked at - NEVER played with!

I've seen the Lloyds, I think... It has needle meters instead of LED's?
The General Sound is NOT my favorite box to listen to, but it's certainly one of my favorite boxes to look at!
Glad you like the pics! Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they're all gone. They went well with the model cars for pictures because many were the same scale.Afterward I really had no use for them.At the time I had seen some dumpy fat guy and greasy looking mechanic figures with poor detail. These just turned my stomach to look at.The anime type figures were well detailed and nice and colorful so I decided to buy them instead (It certainly helped that most anime figures are of females I admit
.)Sadly most all of my "model car with figures" pictures were lost in a hard drive crash
Boomboxes can be an expensive hobby particularly if your into the auction side of things. For this reason I lost interest in the car models when I found Stereo2go.Most all of the figures got packed away and eventually sold. It's possible I still have some misplaced. Also I seem to remember a few larger scale pieces.I do still have a number of pictures of them with the boomboxes and radios however. After switching hobbies,I suppose I just didn't have the artistic sense you do to make them work as well as props for boombox photos.A while back I posted a topic entitled "Check out my V.U.s".This had to be over a year ago. That post was a closeup of a figure in front of the front panel V.U.s of a Sanyo 9990 I got from Skillphill.I thought it turned out quite well.

Sorry to hear about the hard drive crash,
Jovie. I would've liked to see those pics 'cause I used to collect scale model cars as well.
I might add some of 'em in future pics somewhere down the road.

Those chicks are sexy! I'm a big fan of redheads, but that Vampirella...
She's almost as tall as the Conion.
Thanks for posting.
Mono those figures are just too sexy dude, got me wanting to go the Mons & Venus strip club here in Tampa!
Excellent shots I have to say!
Thanks,
ford!
I haven't been to a strip club in almost 10 years... I honestly can't say that I don't miss that scene.
As for the figures, I've only just scratched the surface. Stay tuned!
Great Pictures , 5/5 Stars.
I don't know what I like better: The Boxes or The Booties!!!
Good job though, very nice pics!!!

You do know that's Megatron the leader of the Decepticons...Optimus Prime's arched nemesis

Nice BOT ! & box
Yeah I got Megatron years ago at a swap meet for $1 and when I found him last week, I thought about giving it to my 8 year old nephew but decided not to since he'll probably break it! Oh yeah, the GE I got for under $4, everything functional. The bargains I find!
figured you knew all about it LOL Cool stuff
