PHILIPS is always a winner!
Congrats to this beauty shot.
I own the "cheap" version, with the square speakergrills and without station preset.
But this version rocks!

BTW: i had also an PHILIPS-day, could add a few ones at the big flea.

You see what I mean, although Japan, and Tawain ruled during the BOX Craze in the 70's & 80's, USA would come out with something to turn your head!!!

My Philips D8418 - my first stereo!

ok, maybe D8418 model is ok, it looks good, no line in unfortunately, but, i'm sorry, Vienna, what do u mean exactly with "PHILIPS is always a winner"? :] Is this D8434 also a winner?



I have this model, but i don't even want to post pics of that plastic wonder here. 4/5 of mechanic parts are made from plastic. Even the grills are made from it..Speakers are big, ok, but what sound can u expect from speaker magnets with size like 50eurocents? A sound from the bucket, nothing more. Im not sure right now, i don't remember, but i think even body of those speakers are .. plastic. Ok, let's take small speakers - from outside it look's like something original, but from inside- there's only a headphone speaker..Another surprise for me- empty spaces inside that box.
I hope, some Philips models are pretty ok, but i don't want any models like that one anymore, from any manufacturer. Price of that box was like 3 euros, a taxi driver sold me it, but it was a mistake:]. I want nice working, heavy, reliable, monolith boomboxes with some chrome! :]

I own the same.
This unit is a big plastifico fake.
But the most PHILIPS owns good sound.
And there soooo many different types...

Börnys unit is for sure better quality as the 8434
