What luck, today I picked up this RC-550JW from someone local that just wanted to get rid of it. The guy was only the second owner, this belonged to his brother I believe he said, and he took really good care of it. There are absolutely no major scratches, none. Just minor blemishes here and there. And.....everything works!! I would rate this a 9 of of 10 in appearance. I actually always wanted one of these, just didn't think I would find one so soon or in such good shape.

Thank you all. I've always liked the look of this box but it is even better in real life. The sound is not great, but it gets by on its looks. JVC should have build this box with 2 10" woofers (and in stereo of course) and that would have been THE box to have.

I look on Craigslist almost every day. It paid off apperantly.

WOW! VERY NICE! Craigslist is awesome if you just stay dedicated to a daily routine. I check it everyday before lunch and at 5:00 before I leave work.

Are you guys checking the electronics or the collectibles section?

I check under "all for sale/wanted". As you know Craigslist is particular on keyword searches - this box only showed up with the search Boom Box (not boombox).
