Well i was looking on ebay at boxes and found a place that was not the normal place to loook for them - no i'm not telling
well spotted this blaster at 99p start with £8.00 postage - so 7 days later and i'm round a mates house on his son's laptop, watching the last minutes hoping no last minute high bids pushing it up and making it not worth buying
well 2 seconds to go and i blink as it comes up
! ?............. no more bids
so i got it for 99p
postage at £8.00 (happy to pay that)
so it turned up today - flimsy cardboard box with the top corner torn (the hand that feels, i think
blooy post office
)
looked at the postage price and it was £9.58
so that means he paid the extra postage at £1.58p and throw the boom box for free
i have sent him a e-mail offering to give him an extra £3.00 - feel that is fare
so anyway back to what the box was and what it was like - it's a PYE TR-1842 (made like some phillips)
the deck needs a new belt, but apart from that i was well please with the condition as it's very clean with onlt a couple of light marks but looks fresh - will need a shine up to bring out it's most
I love the way the tweeters over lap the speaker with there silver outer rings - gives it a cool 80's look
this is one of the reasons i put a bid in for it
hope you like it as much as i do
cheers B

Its got VMS ... wow.
what the #$?! is VMS ??
Sounds like someone just wanted it
out of the house.
There was alot of that before.
Are those vents or LED meters?
VMS ?
i think they were a little bit pissed off that it only went for 99p - ebay fees as well
he said he need to find a box and then send it out
so i said no worry's - please pack it well
what for 99p - he said
no i said for the £8.00 postage, that should allow you to get some old news papers to pack out the box
just got the feeling he was upset and angry about it all
not my fault - i bought in good faith
no there not leds just vent it looks like
Nice find B.

I got a walkman on one bid like that
on ebay.
But I sent some extra anyways.
You could put some LED in the vents.
Connect direct to speakers through resitors.

when i win anything really really cheap i always message them to make sure theres no problems,i won a couple in the last few months and when i message the seller, there usually releaved that i`m a nice guy, often say there not happy at there end price,so i offer to leave feeback for eachother instead, saves all the hastle and arguments..
But...you did really well gettin them to send that for 99p..good going B..
well send it for free and he still had to pay an extra 58p - but it does look nice
sent him some extra money for it and a link to a courier service, as he said he had next to send a guitar - cost a lot at the post offic i would think but only £8.00 with my link
so i think he's a bit more happy now

Woah, nice box, and nice price! I have the original cardboard box for that very radio, I spotted it amongst a pile of rubbish about 2 years ago, and took it home.
