well it's been a bit quiet at the carboot this weekend - so on sunday was running around and saw a 90's sony, had a look and a bit rough, but then the guy says he has another in the car - oh yer ! so he grabs a cardboard box and say's "sorry it's not in this box" ?
"no it's bigger !" and put's his arm up to do the international sign for 80's ghetto blaster - arm up to shoulder like he's carrying some thing
he's either weak or it's big and heavy ?
he pulls out a JVC DC-7 and passes it to me - bloody hell it's heavy !
say's i can have it for £20
i look it over for a couple of minutes - it looks clean and well cared for
i say "will you take £15 for it - that way you won't have to take it back home again ? (this some times works as they don't like to take big and heavy things back home and would rather sell it when they can)
yup £15 piad for it
got it home and it all works - here's the pic's (along with a sanyo mini to show size - love the mini's )
(i have a mate that is hopefully saving me a couple of boxes including a V2000)
cheers B

The Dc7 is more of a rare beast compared to the Dc33L..i`ve seen a couple of DC7 on the markets, one belonged to a stall owner, and it was`nt for sale, and another that i saw,he wanted £50 for it..congrats on that box our bendy...
Very nice score Bendy! A very worthy addition to your collection.
Rock On.
i guess i was just in the right place at the right time - big boxes don't tend to crop up offten at the carboots as most dealer know there money and put them straight on to ebay
and it was nice that this one was clean and working
hi there madclout and welcome aboard bro
Excuse my ignorance!!!
What are carboots?
And what would you say you paid for them in dollars?
Thanks
carboots are yardsales
empty carpark or field - open up the back of your car up - table or cloth on the floor and sell you unwanted goods
also find good stuff to buy
most of the boxes i pick up are about £5 = $8- ish
http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic?free=1i paid £15 for the JVC DC-7 which is about $25
cheers B
Dam nice find Bendycat. How does it sound? Looks impressive!!
doesn't sound too bad - best with i-pod
records has the crackle and pop's - can go loud
but does lack a 3-5 band for best sound
i like it - but bloody heavy on the sholder

Congrats to the box.

Hi Bendycat that is a real nice boomer and in really good condition. and posting the JVC on a board i go back to the oldschool..........boomer's, board's, B.M.X's and babe's
yup yer right there
just got to add BEER, BBQ's and a POOL
cheers mate
Very nice, Bendycat! What a score!
I too have wonder what "carboots" were and now I know. Wasn't hard to figure out though, I suspected it was equivilent to our swap meets (or flea markets). Some of my favorite places to find stuff. You have been quite lucky though, you turn up good stuff just about every weekend!
i guess it's in the blood of hunting and collecting - i get a buzz looking for stuff and finding just the right thing
i do think that the word of ghetto blaster and boom box hasn't got out to all yet as money makers like old bmx's have - can't find many of those around at the mo
this cat likes to hunt
