I have an AKAI AJ-500 that I bought from a member from this forum a few years back. I cant remember his name, but, he was based in Australia then.

the unit itself is in very good condition. When I bought it, the seller installed external stereo microphones on top of the unit and he basically accomplished that by modding/drilling 2 screws on the top one of each side of the handle.

The record function has never worked. Playback works fantastic. Radio/Tuner works fantastic.

on the Lower left, it is missing a 2 inch face plate - but I am assuming that can be very easily found and replaced. It basically glues on.

I have taken very good care of this unit and am willing to sell this off. I understand AJ-500 are very rare, they do not go on ebay and have never found one from many months of searches I have done. There are very few search results on the web for AJ-500. I know i can get good $$$ for it. But, wanted to see if anyone on this forum has any idea or interest in purchasing this from me.
