heres the beautiful HITACHI TRK 8600 pics of the box i traded with RETRO ADDICT today, i had to use my bro,s nikon cam for these and im dissapointed at the quality which does.nt do the box justice atall anyway thanks again RA for a stunning box iv,e wanted for ages, top stuff mate

Yours is in MUCH better condition than the one I used to own. Unfortunately, for a box with a 3-way system, it didn't sound better than or as good as my 2-way red Perdisco. Still a great looking box tho.

G,MAN, yes i traded it for the blocky, the pics don,t do it justice it really is clean and hardly a mark on it, and your right i don,t have many boxes left, 5 in total, the 8600,sharp 9191, philips d8614, sanyo mx920, and hitachi 8200, iv,e promised myself i will never have less than 5, apart from the 8200, the other 4 i really love and are keepers

MONO, yes i agree on the sound, it isn,t the best box for sound, but it does thump and is loud, with a respectable sound quality the look of this box is amazing it really is awesome looking, i had it out in the sun today and the colour of it is surreal, the chrome face plate is a copper/green colour and iv,e never seen this on any other box it really is unique and i think i like it as much as my sanyo 920 by the way your red perdisco is stunning MONO thanks guys

nice one lav, and yes you need a better camera to appreciate the looks of it.

Nice box the 8600. Anyone else tried to take one apart? Oh my god. Comes apart easy enough, just try and get it back together again

yup..i doo like the looks of these 8600,especially like where the Vu's are,same place as on the Big ben..due to the positive response to this one,i think it might be my duty to try and get the 8600 my mate has got

secondly, yes if you can prize the 8600 from your mates hands G,MAN go for it, it,s a lovely box and sounds good too to me it just oozes the classic box look

I had a brand, spanking new one. Got it from that jack berg place, years ago. Even though, it had never been used, it needed new belts. That new smell though, lovely.

I've been waiting for one of those to come my way - do like the look of them - near the same as the 8200

saw one one the net sitting for £350 (never was going to sell at that price)

missed one ages ago - soon

I have an 8610W - leds instead of vu`s, same box though - and they are tough to get back together! Theres clips at the top, then pressing in the bottom it snaps in- managed, then the cassette door got jammed, couldn`t eject it- proceeded to pop it apart again to line up the eject mechanism - then snapped the plastic tab off the door that keeps it shut- looking at it as i type this ..
