So I thought I was done collecting. But this came along and I could not resist. My first Clairtone
feel kind of narcissistic posting this on both sites, but not everyone is on both sites
I consider this a gift for myself after divorcing. And I think I deserve it
And I swear it will be my last one
WOW, looks in pretty good condition except the metal on the bottom tape drawer. where did it come from, Quebec??
peter.griffin - 2010-10-09 03:42
thanks Lav. mobcrew, it came from a small city in Ontario about 2-3 hours from Toronto
i wish them boxes was more available here in the uk, congrats again on a gem of a box
I fear the Conion fell far below UK quality standards so was confined to the US
that makes me laugh a little AO
how can that be with a quality box like that?
surely that can't be right
Great divorce gift.
Good thing the tape door is there
It's easy to cut an aluminium strip for the tape drawer
It's worth divorcing anytime

yeah, it's pretty much in tact. And AO, you are right, it's sound and build quality is nothing like the JVC RC-M90. I bought it because to me, it just represents the 80's. Big, Flashy on the outside, and hollow on the inside

Nice idea, but we still got that Lasonic 930/Crown SZ-5100. That thing was all over those stores in Tottenham Court Road like a virus...

That's true
And I remember being par tic ulary snobbish over the "Crown" name back then.
My mindset back then was "surely The Philips/Pye Sound machines are better . . . . . "

hey Fresh Produce(and anyone else with a Conion/Clairtone, let me ask you a question? Is you Conion really loud when you listen to the FM? My clairtone, I can't even turn it half-way before it's too loud and distorted. On line-in it's fine. Is that how your Conion is too?
Thanks.

I turn on the radio on my conion it sound good whn it was low half way but if I turn it up all the way it did distort a little but not bad it still sounded good
i get the same thing with my FM on mine. The speakers on my clairtone are in really good and crisp condition. so it happens in the same spot It could be the FM single. I am also in the Toronto area. The input how ever i not sure because ive only every plugged in cd players and it all depends on the volume on the cd player is raised to.
