hey nevone, i always check out the updates on your collection, your collection is growing and growing,
as retro said the party2000 is really nice and of course the studio 1, and a lot of very interesting minis. and dont forget to use the once in storage once in a while , they could go bad.
bison - 2013-08-10 08:49

nevone - 2013-08-12 09:29
Thank you guys. I will keep posting, hoping that everyone sees something he likes in the thread
bredgeo - 2013-08-12 12:57
Man!!!! Yeah!!!! One hell of a cool collection... Nicer and nicer by the months!!!!!!!!!!
michiel - 2013-08-12 14:07
I love that four speaker Panasonic! Really need to find one too! A very cool collection indeed!
nevone - 2013-08-15 10:20
You definitely should Michiel, you won-t be disappointed.
I have a new addition to the collection, another mini, Siemens Club 816
nevone - 2013-09-18 11:43
And yet another score: jvc rc 550
Haves a few minor scratches and dents and misses the handle, otherwise fine condition and all working.
Picture taken as I was bringing it home.
deech - 2013-09-18 11:51
Iconic !! Congrats Nev
Just a question The tape door is made of
plastic or aluminum?
bredgeo - 2013-09-18 12:38
I might have a handle from an old 550 (MIGHT)... I will check for you... If I remember to. If you're interested (just in case it is the correct handle, and to help me remember) send me a PM on Sunday or Monday.
Oh, and, "AWESOME FRICKING SCORE!"
nevone - 2013-09-19 02:02
@Deech: the tape door is metallic, not sure if aluminum or other alloy
@Bredgeo: I will definitely follow up with you on the handle issue. Maybe I get lucky.
bredgeo - 2013-09-19 02:12
Crossing our fingers it is the correct handle.....!
aestereo - 2013-09-19 04:46
Can you write some details about the panasonic party center.
Is it a boombox with some additional DJ functions?
nevone - 2013-09-19 07:33
Hi Ae_Stereo,
I think you meant the Panasonic PA100 which is not really a boombox, more a PA System.
It haves a cd player, mixer with 4 channels and some settings, guitar input, microphone input and a rhythm machine (several styles and beats to select, BPM settings, basically what you got in a cheap synthesizer). It is basically full of features that I would probably never use
If you are interested on the subject, check out it's manual here: http://service.us.panasonic.co...ERMANPDF/SYPA100.PDF
lav.loo - 2013-09-19 09:20
You have some real beauties Nev and they just keep coming, congrats on your finds
nevone - 2014-05-01 03:42
Bought an egg.
I believe this being a japanese domestic market model, as the information is very scarce on it.
Sony Sonahawk ZS70 aka "Sonahoku"
Cool motorized pannel, all working fine.
nevone - 2014-05-02 05:51
I did some more playing around with the Sonahawk and i-m getting happier about it.
The amount of sound that comes from those small speakers is incredible.
It haves all sort of features like bass boost, bass cutout frequency, equalizer settings, and the display is incredible.
Might not be a lot to look at on the first glance, however, if you give it a second look you will notice that this was no cheapo at the time.
It also haves a very unique feature that makes him turn 15 degrees left and right, however that is only on the remote and I do not have the original remote, only a simpler remote without that function so I cannot test that.
It appears that the original remote for this model is the Sony RMT-C70, so I guess next thing I will be on the lookout for one of those, or maybe I will have a universal remote programmed with the codes, if I find them.
andyboombox - 2014-05-03 02:48
absolutely fantastic updates nevone, too many good ones to list, your collection must be massive by now
samovar - 2014-05-03 03:40
eggs are not my cup of tea, but i have to admit that the Sonahawk looks like a great new entry in your already fabulous collection!
nevone - 2014-05-05 11:26
Thank you guys, yes, indeed my collection is kind of huge right now and I am struggling with the space problem. However this will be solved in the near future (hopefully).
I got a new one today.
When it comes to Sharp GX series, I would have preferred the GX 33 or the GX 88, however I could not resist this Sharp GX CD60. It comes from a local auction site, it was advertised as a GX CD60 (BK) but the picture in the ad was from a WQ series box. After I clarified with the seller that he is indeed selling a GX, I bought it for the equivalent of 4 packs of cigarettes. Obviously, he did not know what he was selling, as the unit is fully working. More, it still haves the original stickers. Agreed, it is kinda dirty but that will buff out . Unit is a beast anyway. Anyone know what year those were produced? I would say 88 or so...
Here are some pics:
This is my 3rd CD Boombox out of I don't even know any more how many. I guess any collection should have some of those as well. Anyway, another box is on the way and that is a minty 80s one. Updates soon.
nevone - 2014-05-06 12:25
And the catch of the day is a German market Sanyo C-2R.
Nice unit, and judging by the lack of information on the webs regarding it...rare?
mitchelljames - 2014-05-06 12:48
That's a nice looking unit Nev

nevone - 2014-06-15 12:43
New entries in my collection.
First there would be an AKAI AJ 490FS
Surprising everything is working down to the last feature. Very nice sound. I would compare the sound with that from a GF 9696, same warmth and texture, maybe a little less volume.
Second, this is my first new in box unit.
This is a Sony CFD 775L which was the top of the range of his time.
As 90s boxes go, this was a very large box.
The thing about her is not the size however, it is the fact that is new after 24 years and the sound which i would describe as being from the hifi category. It is better than absolutely everything I own, and if you were to scroll up I own quite a few. The only downside is that the tape belts did not make it, not being moved all this time.
That being said, here are some pictures.
michiel - 2014-06-15 12:54
Nice finds Nev! Glad to hear the Akai should sound good. I have one but it is a wreck and sounds horrible. It shifted a bit higher on my project list now That boxed Sony is an awesome find btw!
samovar - 2014-06-15 23:26
nice New Ones! love the Akai, but the Sony looks impressive! how did you manage to find one new?
deliverance - 2014-06-16 01:14
The sony looks a quality unit well done
deech - 2014-06-16 03:08
Great new boomboxes NevOne
I dont know about the Sony(its a 3 piece 90s unit so it must be good)
but that AKAI is a very nice sounding unit.
I have one in pristine condition and really
is above in terms of sound from some
overhyped bboxes.
nevone - 2014-06-16 03:22
Thank you guys!
The Akai - I would have preferred a 500 as I like the looks better, but this one has won me with its sound. @Michiel: you should definitely sort out yours, and you will not be disappointing. Hopefully, all the capacitors are working fine and it is just a contact issue.
@Samovar - The story about the Sony is the following: When I bought the JVC PC V88, the guy where I got it, which was kind of a hoarder himself, but more on the Hifi side mentioned that he also haves a Sony CFD 775 Boxed which he planned on keeping for himself.
It took a little bit of convincing and I have to tell you that it wasn't cheap at all, but in the end I got it. I don't regret it as it sound just marvelous and it is my first boxed unit.
Does anyone know what years these were made? I would say early 90s before the classic egg era.
I am planning to make some videos of my boxes, as the pictures might not be enough. Hopefully sometimes in the near future.
samovar - 2014-06-16 05:18
Great story! For some reason, when you say "it took a little bit of convincing" to get the Sony, I think of this:
andyboombox - 2014-06-16 05:42
just love the sony-a great 90s boombox for sure-more appreciation should be showed for 90s boxes as they gradually get as rare as their 80s counterparts-this sony is a beauty-i wouldnt turn it down
andyboombox - 2014-06-16 05:43
it looks to date to 1991/92 at the latest.possibly as early as 1990.
nevone - 2014-06-16 09:58
Haha, that Popeye sure know how to convince people. However my argument was monetary, and I payed a pretty penny for it, but it was all worth it.
As for how rare that is...I did not see many 775s before this one, there are a few 770s on Youtube but that is about it. Probably it used cost a lot of money new and there were cheaper alternatives. Of course, the argument of not seeing many around does not mean automatically that it is rare

I agree these are FANTASTIC...i have 2 of them.....
little story....i dug out this sony the other day and had a quick listen But i wasn't that impressed....so i then decided to dig out the m90 and started using the m90 thinking it would blow away this sony....and for some reason i was less impressed with the m90...went back to the sony and was then blown away....it actually sounded better than the m90 haha....so my advice to you is to get her fixed and keep ahold of her.....FSNTASTIC score
Ohh and the sony was made in 1991 if memory serves me correct Nev
nevone - 2014-06-29 00:06
And a little something something that I had for a while but was not able to post due to lack of pictures...
Sharp vz 2500
with missing sliders unfortunately
samovar - 2014-06-29 00:14
Wonderful score! The Sharp VZ-2500 is the most elegant of the vertical turntable boxes around -- even better-looking than the legendary VZ-2000, imo. You can ask bredgeo for the missing sliders. He makes those for the VZ-2000 so in your shoes I'd contact him immediately
michiel - 2014-06-29 04:45
Agree with Sal, this one looks better than the 2000. Best thing is you can actually put things on top of it Nice score.
Those sliders are a pain. My flew off when I was opening the case for the third time on a single day . Luckily I found the knobs again, but had to repair the nylon part from the sliders.
nevone - 2014-07-01 05:40
Eh, the sliders are the least problem of the unit.
It is a fixer upper but just could not find the time to open it.
The pickup does not work and the cassette deck is blocked on "play"
It is on my to do list...
A new acquisition would be a JCV PC5, real heavy unit, everything working, sticker still attached. Makes me sorry for refusing a PC55 a few years ago...
samovar - 2014-07-01 05:46
you have a helluva heavyweight killers in your collection NevOne!
michiel - 2014-07-01 06:15
PC5 is a lovely machine! For sure you will like it! Only reason I don't take it out is because of the weak design of the door in front of the tape deck settings. Would love to find one with a missing door too!
deliverance - 2014-07-01 06:21
The pc5 is a cracker enjoy .
nevone - 2014-07-22 01:22
Got a new one today, a Unisef, more a Walkman dock than a mini but I like it.
These are the pictures that the seller made, as they are better than mine.
deliverance - 2014-07-22 01:52
Classy looking mini .
nevone - 2014-08-08 04:16
Bought this for 11.24 Euros. Radio works, missing some buttons, belts probably and by the look of it ...the tweeters.
Anyway, good looking shell.
michiel - 2014-08-08 04:20
Thats a very good bargain! Would love to find one of those too over here
andyboombox - 2014-08-08 06:39
here here to that
nevone - 2014-08-31 12:27
Well, the time has come to move from my flat into a house. I have sold my flat and will begin building the house next year. Until then, my boxes will be in storage.
On this occasion, I have made some group pics, before I will pack and store them.
Hopefully, next year I will have a boombox room with all of those and much more.

Sony CFD 775L!!! I want it too
deech - 2014-09-10 06:43
Great pictures of your collection Nevone !
I couldnt store all of them and have them away for a year,
it seems like a lot of time !
I wish all the best and make your boomroom faster than
you expect !!
Greetings to Romania.
radio.raheem - 2014-09-10 19:17
I eco what Deech has said...good luck with the house thing..and as i have said before that soby is great...it matches the m90 if not better, it's only downside is it's a bit on the large side
