likin the fisher price...coooooooool
nice silver and hitachi
That Silver box looks very neat. If it-s as good as mine, then you have a very good box.
Like the budget JVC - horn-tastic tweeters & the grid-style that was oh-so 80s.
That little Fidelity turntable (the HF42) was the very first record player my brother owned. It's mono with a 1.5 watt internal speaker (underneath where the tonearm is in this pic):
so if you played a 12" or LP, the speaker was firing directly into the vinyl. Genius (!)
I remember playing War Of The Worlds on it (the first LP I owned) & also teaching myself headbanging while playing Iron Maiden's Hallowed Be Thy Name from The Number Of The Beast in '82
I bet ol' Bruce ****inson didn't sound too impressive thru that! Got it recently from a village hall tabletop sale for £2 in perfect working order..The £7 Silver is faultless and sounds very good indeed,I use it when camping at Vee Dub shows, the bonus is that it runs at 12v so can go straight from a car battery with some croc clips..very loud and clear..
the quality of the JVC is actually very poor considering how good some of their bigger boxes were. I like the Hitachi but again sound isn't too great..I did have a few more Hitachis but have sold/given some away including a couple of 8200s and an 8300..I do still have an old 8015 with a friend. My first (this time around) box was a perfect working 8200 for a tenner from a boot but I fried it when plugging into a 24v outlet with a 12v inverter
Nice upright Sharp table Ff!
yeh, the JVC is a budget model & Hitachis are a bit famous for being light on the bass. Perhaps they knew this & that's why they came up with the 3Ds...
Found a few more pics, still got some of these with a friend,a couple have gone but thought I'd post pics anyhoo

it's a soft-top right? 1986 is too late for the mk1...
Some nice unit's there even for budget.Tensai look's to be well made,Silver RT77E i like the style of that one i too collect older variation's of radio's aswell. That Panasonic RS4150LJ again great build quality hard to match most box's from that era were built to last.I have some sony's like that and there pretty heavy to say the least without batterie's.....GoodStuff! ;)
