My personal favorite... Just bought this Panasonic RX-6400 from DM4U.
Got my first MINT RX-6400 from RBJ last year. Love the performance these mosters give.
So Im always on the look out for others. I happened across some new video from James in Texas, known as DM4U (banned here as well as at the other site).
He had some pricing in the 'notes' area of his youtube boombox videos, so I asked him about it. Sure enough, he says that 'everything is for sale except for 3 or 4 boxes' out of hundreds! He is out of work, and wants to clear some living space. Money talks, because he needs it.
If you are one of the few who have not seen his dumbfounding bbx collection in his 800 sq ft apartment, you must view it immediately!
He has a few of these rare RX-6400's and a blue RX-A2. I bought one from him last week. He took great photos of my payment, the box, the packaging, and shipping. Plus he provided me with a tracking number.
Ok, some of us have had issues with James, I for one, never did. So I dont mind buying from him. My purpose here other than showing off my new Panasonic, is to let my fellow collectors know that one of the greatest bbx stashes known is now available.
Besides Arkay in Hong Kong, does anyone in the world have more boxes? Besides, these are For Sale!
On the the box:
It arrived packaged to pefection! These dont need anything more than a label slapped on the back due to their built in armor, but I appreciated the extra care given anyway!
It works 100%. In fact its on 'Line In' right now blasting some OASIS.
Controls have static, sometimes the Left channel falls silent, but jiggling the line in the back solves that problem.
Its lived a full life. Compared to the RX-6400 I bought from Ira, its banged and battered, the chrome is worn, although I may powdercoat all the metal flat black soon, and the strangest thing of all... while exactly like my MINT 6400, its a different color of Grey. Or is it Green? I can never be sure? I know its not fading from use in the sun, because the color is uniform. My MINT 6400 is a darker color.
Ok, so these things make a Conion C-100F run for cover, I think thats no secret.
I only wish I could find some 'period correct' information on these! Advertising, technical bulletins, owners manual. Anything! Im not even sure what year these were built? Anyone have some history?
Believe me, Im so tempted to buy up dozens of boxes from DM4U, but I myself do NOT want to hoard. So Ive yet to buy a second box from him, but I soon will. I think for me personally, to ward off the 'fever', and to keep the wife happy, Im going to have to limit my haul to one box a month. That means the other few hundred, are up for grabs my friends!
Go for it.
Now, a few photos: Sorry for the bad lighting, we had a dark Winter day here yesterday...
Mint in the back / Mutt in the front
Providing todays tunes. Linked together gives new meaning to Oasis 'Supersonic'
I would encourage everyone to put one of these on their 'must have' list!
Please.
Make and post a video of this one, playing some old school funk!!!
