Oh my Garrard...!!!

This I said this morning when I receive a call, yes, early in the morning, sunday, at 6:00AM and a guy in the telephone, asking if I'm interested in a big box.
- Is almost like an stereo! he said.
- Hmmmm.... It is not a stereo component?
- No its not, It has speaker attached on it, and can run on batteries.
- With or without CD player?
- No, only digital tuner, two cassette decks.
- Ok, ok, yes, it is a BoomBox, I'm interested, let me your address and more later I can go for the lady. Oh, almost forgot to ask, what brand name/make is it?
-Garrard, model GSW40
-??? Uh... ok, it is all.

When I drove my car this morning, to rescue this BBx, My remembers go far far away in time, when I was 5 or 6 years old, I remember my father has a Garrard turntable, with fine wood cabinet, automatic disc loading mechanism, both 45 and 33 rpm. with a beautiful smoked glass cover (yes, not plastic)and a beauty amplifier in wood finish too. this stereo was in my family for above five years, when I was 11 I don't remember what happens, but my father brings other stereo to home.

I never had any electronics with the Garrard name, I always think is an exclusive brand for old turntables..... Ok, let me show you the results on this photos.







the unit still in new condition, all is working, sounds very good and is very heavy, the digital tuner have a good radio reception,cosmetically is clean.

Please, members I need some more info on GARRARD Boxes, *TPR* How many Garrards is in the database?

Private labeled...I'm pretty sure Garrard is out of business, their known for their turntables, which are OK, found a lot in console units. I've got a few kicking around that are nothing special but they did have a couple very high-end models that are sought after today. There's a website somewhere that details the rise and fall of the English Company...
