Here are some pics of my new Aiwa CS 880 after my repair job
it has had a lot of issues:
1: all foam surrounds were rotten
2: all belts were loose
3: the ON/OFF switch was defective
4: the motor was burnt
5: the wirering of the motor was wrong ( I guess the former owner made a bad repair job)
6: the logic of the motor is still defective, I connected it directly to the motor switch.
7: the voltage regulator transistor for the synthese tuner have had a cold solderpoint.
But now it looks great and beautyful...
The bass response of my new 18cm woofer ( replacement for the passive radiator) is in my ears not so perfect as I hoped but I'll make some investigations with different models of woofers. Also I'll try to integrate an amplifier with a low pass for this speaker...
WoooooooooW...
Congrats Ralf
Youre a lucky man
It looks very nice!!!! Welcome to the CS880 club.....

Hey Ira if you don't have an 880 we can't talk to you.
Can I just be an 880 wannabe? That thing looks mean with the black woofs! Especially that replacement for the passive radiator!
Looks great and congrats!

KOOL!!!
Wow, what a box. Was worth all the effort for sure D. Digital tuner, that ROX! That is if you respect the opinion of an 880 wannabee...
just personal light duty disagreement -- but i think digital tuners on a classic box suck --
like a 67 big block vette with an automatic !
I might just be signing up for the 880 club in a few days... Time & money will tell

I think it's like a big block with an digital fuel and ignition system for higher performance and lower service costs.
BTW this AIWA has in my eys the best LC-Display of all my digital read out boxes : Sharp 9595 and 9797, Philips D 8814 (elephant series), Grundig RR 1140 and 1040, Sony CFS-D7, Hitachi TRK ????
your english IS perfect
and thats a cool analogy for the big block --
i wonder if we have any members that can repair digital tuners ?

.
HALLO
good english !!

lol@ira x2 i thought so aswell.
did you replace all the speakers Yetix?
Yes, I replaced all speakers : the 6,5" are now OEM types from Philips 25 Watts/4 Ohms
The tweeters are now real 1" doome tweeters from Nokia also 4 Ohms.
Warum hast du nicht einfach nur die Sicken erneuert?
Ich erwarte jetzt auch einen 880
aber die Sicken müssen, wie immer, gemacht werden...
