After a long time (about two months) far away from my home, by things relatives with my job, finally I'm back with some great BBx's awaiting to be added to my collection. Do you remember the advise I put around my neighborhood soliciting old boomboxes? The method is still working, and working very well, a lot of calls ands messajes are in my voice mail, each and every one was replied, this is the result:
This one is a SANYO mini M-7650 in pretty good condition, like new, working to perfection, good quality sound and very portable, almost like a Walkman.
continuing with the *minis* take a look on this nice SONY CFS-250, also all working, good condition and only awaiting a deep cleaning job.
Another *mini* this is an AIWA W-330 white with double cassette deck, working very well also, only has many scratches and a lot of dirty inside and out. the radio reception is very amazing, and sounds good for the size of the unit. Thanks Mr. Ferny for the AIWA !
Another mini SONY, this is a lovable pinky baby CFS-210 very clean without traces of dirt, looks to be a part of a girl's bedroom for its conditions. Very cheap Too! Thanks Mr. Rami for this baby.
This is a TOSHIBA baby boomer too, RT-8538 also in very clean condition and all working like new, Digital AM/FM tuner with good reception, double cassette deck, and a sweet sound very good for a BBx of this size. Thanks Mr. Rami again for this little jewel.
Now watch this perfect PANASONIC RX-4940 in awesome good condition, complete and 100% functional, average sound but with a good quality radio reception and quiet cassette mechanism. A good BBx to take it out in a pic-nic. Thank you Marco for this PANA.
Now look this SANYO one-piece BBx M-9825 Found in a garaje sale this week. the radio works well, but the cassette mechanism is dead. nothing happens when the play/ff/rew buttons are pressed, the motor doesn't run, needs to be cleaned too, the whole unit.
Here is this great GENERAL ELECTRIC 35266-B and sadly something wrong happens when I try to connect to an AC 120 volt power source to verify the unit, the power LED come on, but a strange hiss noise are the only sound in the speakers, all the LED VU meter lights up, after a few seconds, smoke from the interior of the unit! all LEDS goes off, but the hiss noise remains, seconds more, the whole unit is dead... cause? The transformer power supply, a diode bridge, and some resistors burned. What a pity for this unit because looks great and is in very clean condition.
Well, not all is bad, continuing with the show, here is this 3-piece PANASONIC RX-CW26 in very good condition, radio reception works fine, cassette decks needs new belts, plays but sounds distorted and the FF/REW functions don't work. Thank you Albert for sell me this PANA.
Another 3-piece black BBx, SONY CFS-W400 working at the top, good sound but very small speakers, double cassette, clean and complete, sweet box thanks to Ms. Diane for this cheap TRANSOUND by SONY.
And this is a very nice unit SANYO M-9927K in good condition, all is working, only needs some minor clean, the cassette souns great, the sound is very 80's just the way I like it!
When I got the unit, it comes with a lot of stickers in the front, I remove all, but I decide to let only one. Check.....
This is a MAGNAVOX D8040 with a lot of dirty and a non-functional cassette deck, something electrical I think, may be a contact because nothing happens when play button is pressed. The sound of this SPATIAL STEREO is good enought to listen in a quiet room, the sound distorts too high when volume is set to high levels.
Well, I hope you are enjoyed this new additions of my collection, sorry for the bad pictures, but my camera is missing, and I take the pics with the 1.3 megapixel camera of my Nokia phone. See ya!
we have some in common !
The aiwa was my 1st bbx back in the day, which was lost in a fire,i replaced it via ebay for 10 bucks, and it's a true freind! Congrats nice grouping of bbxs!
I want a Sanyo mini!! Those things are SO cute!
I really like the "Love Me" sticker on the side of the 9927.
good score Tranxmetal, the first sanyo looks great.
Way to go Tranxmetal, those little Sanyo's are nicer than you would expect. They have a bigger sound than they should for their size.
Advertising at it's best...fo finding boomboxes that is! Nice scores, especially the minis!
Wow!
really back in business!
great,elegant and unusual Toshiba there!
Those are some nice little boxes you've added to your collection, Tranxmetal.
The Sanyo M9825, G.E., and Panasonic RX-CW26 are my favourites in that bunch.
The chrome tweeter grilles on the CW26 are amazing!
Thanks to all boys. I can see here in my city a lot of people with good stuff in their homes, At this step, soon I can get a very important collection of BoomBoxes (called GRABADORAS here in Mexico)But rarelly I can find the "Holy Grails" like the CONIONS, BIG BENS, and all the bigger boxes that I love it....
Around here in my country, I don't know if exist some like S2G or a group of enthusiast collecting old radios, walkmans or boomboxes. Some times I wish to explain better my ideas and post more comments, but I feel my english is so basic and not ever I find the right way to explain something. But Thanks to all for the lessons! Oh, and thanks too for sharing your big knowledge about the marvelous world of the BoomBoxes !
