I've seen a Sony FH-7 MKII minisystem.
I wanted to know if some s2g member have one, to give me an opinion.
It isn't cheap, but looks mint. Price is near the 200 dollars
.
But I keep thinking of it ...
I get impressed with my CFS-9900 (it's like an early FH with the same APM speakers). The amount of power is incredible
like the speaker performance
.
TAKING A REFERENCE:
Here (in Argentina)
An RCM-70 costs about 180 dollars in good shape.
(Mine cost 90 dollars, but it isn't in mind condition)
An GF9696 costs about 200 dollars (with dead deck).
An RC-838 costs betwen 100 and 180 dollars.
(Mine cost 100 dollars, in good shape, but needed service that I've finished)
And RC-M80 costs about 100 dollars with dead deck
A saw a GF-9292 that was sold in 170 dolars !!!!
(people is crazy !!!)
Is the FH-7 price rigth around the other prices I gave you ?.

I have one, it's got amazing sound. However it does not run on batteries. In Canada you can get them for less then 100, I got mine for 20bucks.
Looking here some member have found a battery "deck" for the FH-7. Even in specs, Sony puts power running on AC and Power running on bateries, so a battery pack most exist.
Anyway it isn't my idea of a portable ...
There is a rechargeable battery pack that was available for many of the FH series. You put it in place of the AC pack. It wieghs about 3-4 pounds in addition to the rest of the system. Besides carrying these beasts aren't really an option unless your name is Ahhhnoolldd.
The battery unit is the EBP-78 which replaces the lower AC-78 section. The EBP-78 takes 12 D cells and has its own amplifier built in. The larger amp section is bypassed during battery operation. Thats why there are two different ratings for AC and DC operation.

btw, oldskool69, thought you were going to send me some things.
I still am. I've just been so caught up working out of town which compresses my weekend schedule. Will be gone this Saturday though!
Look at the surrounds of the square woofers. If they were made out of foam, they could be worse !
At epay, the FH3/5/7 go often under 100$!
