I'm amazed with this BBX.
A really vintage, well made, solid and great sounding portable. Its size (a little smaller than a mid size BBX) is lovely.
It think that's the closest to the RS4300 I've ever heard.
Lets see
Sound quality is great, well balanced sound reproduction. Highs and bass are quite good and with definition. Don't plastic sound.
I don't remeber another BBX wiht that
clear sound apart of the RS4300.
It isn't a kicker box. But it's 2W+2W are loud enough to make happy your neighbors, but with not distortion, even at max rated output.
Control layout is clear, easy to use.
Cassette deck is solid, well made, with full autostop AC erase and counter. It has CrO2 capability.
It has volume, balance and only a tone control, but it isn't a problem, its sound great, so I don't need to play with it.
I has 2 needle vu-meters, that shows level, batt and turner (with a function switch).
Turner has 4 bands.
It also has stereo wide mode.
I/O port is really another excelent point, with RCA / DIN I/O, stereo MIC in, speaker out and remote pause jack.
Is the third BBX a saw with a discrete power amp made from transistors, apart for the RS-4300 and the RF520. It's clear that was designed for this box and fits perfectly.
For me, a benchmaster BBX.
Mine is fully functional after a service I had finished yesterday. Even the aerials are like new. The only negative is that the enclosure has a mising piece of plastic (like BBX was dropped). But don't matter to me. Sound is near perfect.
Lets see it ...
Pedro
Pedro nice little Unit, i have one and sure is nice heavy duty beast.
hey that is a bad looking bbx enjoy it..
Ive not seen this exact JVC before...
Great review! Looks cool!
I like the look of those 'army' boxes. Maybe JVC carried the idea over when they made the green Urban Assault Kaboom?
