I nice catch for me.
It's a National Panasonic RS-4150. It was bought in Uk by it's previous owner.
The unit is like new, fully functional, even the tapedeck, perfect speed, clear and the autostop works !!!!. So no service required.
Output power is not very large but it's enough for me. I doesn't have tweeters, but the the reponse at high frec is excelent, like the tweters where here !!! Bass is a little weak for me. I compared with the RC838, but the 838 is more clear, since it has better speaker system.
It's a little shorter than a mid size BBX. I love it's size in black color ... No much black Panasonic boxes ....
Is has four band radio, bass, treble and balance control, normal/CrO2 selector
While tape playback the 2 vumeters don't show the output. One shows battery and the other don't move. While radio one battery and the other singal strength.
While recroding, both show level. It would be great a level indication while playback ... I remeber the RS-4300 do the same.
I has aux I/O in both RCA and DIN. The DIN is really a vintage touch. As in the RS4300 this BBX need to press record to listen line-in. A little silly as doesn't exist line-in in the function swich. Instead of aux, it has the famous sleep function (sandby by mecha).
Anyway, you can hock an Ipod to it !!!!, but need to stop motor using the "remote pause" jack of it
Another rare thing is that AC/DC switching most be done by the user with a switch near the AC socket ...
The tape mecha is the most common of mid panasonic BBX's, realiable, simple and takes only 1 belt, so easy to fix, and is likely to use a motor with mechanical regulation instead of electronic. So you get years of good use without problems.
I love it !!!!!
Nice box Success! It's always cool to have a mint fully functional box and panasonics are excellent to begin with.
Are the little metal grilles next to the tuner window microphones? I'm assuming they are since you said it doesn't have tweeters.
You trulyhave a classic '70's era machine there. Nice score! Glad to hear you're enjoying it!
Thanks people !!
What a nice machine the RS4350 !!!!!. It has some 838 touch with its metal frame. I love it, definitely.
Yeah, the grill are the condenser microphones. And the circle in the top is to place an external mic, like in the RS4350.
I see trough the grills and there are only one extenden range speaker (perhaps is was a dual cone inside). It doesn't have tweeters, the same in the RS4100 for example. But sound like they were there. Well built indeed.
Lets see the 4100, the little circle grills are microphones !!!. Compare it with 4300 that's two way.
That I don't mention is that the 4150 don't distorts, someting that's rare for me. Even at max volume sound is clear, like at medium.
The other thing I notice is that it has 2 needles in the turner window !!!!
The window is split in FM/MW and LW/SW. One needle for each one. This rare thing that you can found in early models ....
success that is a darn good box it may be small those panasonics sound wonderful i have the 5090 which is small but sounds great enjoy it
congrats compadre!!
very nice the grills
and good to read all works perfectly.
que no pare la caceria!!
