Got the 7980 today and its functionally sound and cosmetically very nice. after a good cleaning it should be minty.
It works exactly like the Rising even down to the line in .
No pressing play necessary to get the line in to work and the dial light , it comes on as soon as its plugged in.
Very happy with it.

That's great to hear that the dial and line-in works like the Rising. Could it be that Yorx was the only company who screwed it up?

wow - they sure look good together

nobody asked me -but here is my valued opinion of why the rising looks best ::

the yorks has lots of styling similar to some sharps and sanyos --

but the rising is all alone - and looks like nothing else

I have to agree. The Rising has a cleaner, higher quality look.

The square-speaker-cover version was issued as a Rising, too...



...but I'm with everyone else here. I think I like the look of the safety bars, louvers, and round speakers better.

Ill bet if you popped those square speaker grills off and put round ones in it would be a tight race.

I really wanna get another 2020 and modify it black. Keep the crome. And swap out the red led to green. It could possibly be a 1 of a kind. I'll never let it go if I do it.
