if 'back in the day' or yesterday or any day --
i ever saw this silly , tiny ,plasticky looking excuse for a stereo sitting on some store display --
i would not have paid 6 bucks for it -
-
it has that cheap yorx clock radio look.
like how could this thing be good or sound good ??
well - thanks to some enlightening posts on s2g --and a live demo by ex-buddy oldskool
this Sansui # FX-700 became a sudden 'must have'
and yesterday - finally got one :
here's the thing
it less than 14 x 4 x 5 ---
and its sounds great --
not just good for its size --but real strong, clean music pops out !!
like a BOOMBOX
and its got a good deck , line in , capable tuner and some fun to be had
here are some pix -- to show the relative size -
lets call it a sub-mini.
Nice Sansui Ira! Oldy will be proud of you.
I like the red version much better than the black.
FD
-- but you better delete that -- before oldy gets home !!
Heck oldy will want the red one too ira you had better delete the whole thread
congrats mate.
tim - we should be anxious to see how nifty he really is -- with masking tape --
when he tries to spray his to red
I wonder if i could spray my 909 red
Hey Red looks nice. Hope you get it working 100%

I am proud of Ira! And believe it or not, there are more of those red ones around than black!
These were issued during the time when you had all those sweet mini's available with Lifesaver colors. The ultimate target was chicks. Of course they could not have seen that a bunch of bastards like us would ever want one over twenty years later!
Welcome to the Sansui Club Ira!
And now you won't feel like the poor kid when you go over to Ramon's to play and he brings out his CP-5!

Redheads are sexier than brunettes...depending on the application!
But of course, they also say the blacker the berry...the sweeter the juice!
Ira or oldskool can you tell me the power output (audio wise) on these little guys. If not what does it say for total power draw on the back sticker. It must a have a pretty decent amp with some good speakers for that little thing to sound that good.
I would have to put a meter on it to give you an honest answer. Look for it here this weekend.

iso -- thanks, btw --for that recent thread --
that -along with oldies demo --convinced me that it was alot better than just the novel toy which it looks like
any old skool sansui is a very serious product ,i remember the old sansui recievers from the 70's i mean they just ruled and the power was just plain crazy.i had 3 sansui boxes 2 cp55 and one cp 99w and they were awesome.
floyd --even though you guys praise them --i never see sansui box models for sale
so asking --(anyone)
were they too expensive 'back then' at $retail ?
or were they poorly marketed ?
it just seems that very few saw daylight --
and thus --we cant find then now.
ira i think i am going for the silver one
