I like the USB Direct featurelug in any MP3 player with a cable, and play it using the controls on the boombox.

Interesting how the bottom front section looks like a cassette door.Seems it took the manufactures a while to incorporate a software player for flash drives.This is very encouraging.Its also interesting how there seems to be a great void between shelf systems and small "egg" boomboxes.The midsized and large battery capable boomboxes are nearly extinct.

I agree-the AZ1816 is compact in size, while larger boomboxes are harder to come by these day.
