Jaw dropping collection, great place to be with the hobby. All the old favourites present & correct, I'm loving that TRC-975 and...... OK I'm loving them all!
Excellent collection Ewen!! Lots of top shelf blasters in there, and a few of my personal favourites too.
Great work Ewen, congratulations on a spectacular stable of radios!
Rock On.
Amazing collection, and thanks for sharing

I have to agree that is a very nice collection and they all look super minty.
I love looking at peoples collections, you see the different tastes and views of whats cool to them.
Awesome, and thanks again.
Wow, what beautiful machines!
Congrats, great stuff!
Ewen, do you have a favorite sound wise? How about looks wise? I always like to hear other collectors opinions. Very impressive and clean
Thanks for the great comments - appreciation of ones collection is fantastic from you guys on s2g. It's you guys that truly understand the time/effort (and finance!) needed to search for, procure, collect, clean, find parts for, and fix up these wonderful machines.. Makes a change from the wife saying - "not another one"!
Hi there Eric. Tough questions, but I'll have a go:-
LOOKS
I find it hard not to consider condition when I am thinking about how my boxes look. The 9696 and MX920 are pretty much out of the box (I lov the fact the decks take ages to complete their smooth opening routine!). These two are my favourites to look at and show off, although the Conion is simply out and out bad ass, and Discolite is great fun in the dark!
SOUND
I have been experimenting with multiple cables, line in/phono convertors, and a couple of Belkin Rockstars to play multiple boxes so my ideal combo right now is C100 + M90 for sound through the range, and Discolite for visual entertainment (with the sound down low
. Individually, and other than those mentioned already, I really rate the M70 because its fairly non-descript to look at and relatively small, but boy it can pound.
Whilst I'm on the subject, gsbadbmr - have you hooked up multiple Conions? I would imagine you could blow your roof off with that colossal wall of awesomeness
Very nice collection Ewen!! You have a couple of my "most wanted" in there. Great stuff.
terrific goods and i really like picture angles --
so nice to see a conion with a bottom drawer!!
thanks for showing them all.
WOW, really beautiful collection ewen.
Thanks for sharing.

Very nice presentation and great units to boot!
Is that area air conditioned as well?
Very nice collection. I especially love the mx 920 and the many Sharps that you have. The 9696, wow one I have wanted for a long time. Thanks for the pics.

Ewan you old dawwg..did`nt think you had all them grails..simply splended..makes my collection look garbage..Diggin the electro tapes aswell,i`ve got electro 1 to 5 on my mp3 player..
The vinyl box sets can fetch top coin..
Amazing collection!
I didn't realise how much bigger the Conion is compared with the GF-9000!
transamguy1977 - 2009-04-28 13:53
Great collection Ewen . all of the major grails are represented!!!
The display area is great and they are set up just right.
I have to say though that M-90 looks awfully familiar to me
Good to see she made it to you in one piece.
wow very good man, thanks for sharing, how long have you been collecting ?
Driptip - 8 months. It doesn't matter what I get hold of, the wanted list never really reduces! Love it.
Great collection Ewen very cool steup and thanks for the 8600.
Brian - Infinity Reference car speakers. Took out the OG's to restore them and haven't put them back as the Infinitys rip. Can't go too far on the Vol dial though as I worry the box will obliterate!

The bass coming out well???????
Yes indeed - tight and punchy. Dim the lights, connect the Ipod into the Belkin Rockstar, then into the 777 / the M90 / the Conion / and the Discolite.. Party time!
I am sending you a PM...

Ewen,i hate the trc975,i hate the conion,the m90,mx920,the 9696.huhh,horrible
Hey Ewen, you know your discolite ? does it have some lights not working ? i bought mine for £150,sold it to a friend for £200,and he sold it on the bay for alot more,a few of led`s was`nt working,i`m just curious..
Lights not working and you didn't fix it!! Tut tut gettoman..!
Yes, I bet it's one and the same, although the lights now work
So just need a badge for the grills to complete it..
Can't remember what I paid but it's worth it - everyone that comes to our house loves it...as do the kids. As as posted on previous threads, I use it in a combo with other more powerful units so I can have it's mad looks + decent sound at the same time
Stunning collection Ewen!! Wow! Great boomers!!
I feel like I've died and gone to BOX HEAVEN!!!
'NUFF SAID
that's a fine collection of boomers, & of the Electro tapes too.
Let me know if you wan't top quality mp3 copies of these (from mint quality vinyl, using decent hifi equipment to make CDs), so to preserve your tapes...
Truely jaw dropping.
*still recovering from shock.
Ewen, I needed to be recusitated after veiwing this post!!! But what really took my breath away was the Sharp GF 8686!!! Looking brand spankin' new like it was back in the 80's!!! Do you ever take it out for a walk?
Boxes need that fresh air every now and then you know!!! Those are Priceless!!!
'NUFF SAID
That is on sweet collection you have ......all top notch ......thank's for shar
ing
Hey Pioneer, is that your picture on your AVI? Has anyone ever told you that you bear a strong resemblance to VANILLA ICE!?!
'NUFF SAID
KBallenger - do you mean the 9696? It is the freshest box I have and it's utterly mint. It gets a monthly play to keep it sane, but that's about it!!
Better pics of it are in the Collections area somewhere.
I'm sorry Ewen, I thought it said, 8686. But still in all, that's a Bad Box!!! Make sure you take it for a walk every now and then, it hates to be cooped up in the house!!!
Keep it on a short leash too, because it'll attract strays!!!
'NUFF SAID
Ewen...
Thanks for posting nice clear pics of your boxes. It's helping me out tremendously as I search for a box for myself. Most pic's I search on the WWW do no justice and I cannot tell what features some of them have.
This site really serve's as a museum for our favorite boxes from the day. Members like your selves here help us not so informed newbies out.
Thanks
Snazzy collection Ewen, that MX 920 just kills me and as for the Electro tapes.....sheeeeitt!
