ok so i just got this bare empty case and went to work on her ,i added woofers ,grills ,tweeters i know it looks bad but its getting nicer every day.









still a ways to go but it's getting there slowly.

Floyd what about the letterings how are going to paint the face without going over all the decal letterings?

i think black could be amazing. you would have to take extra care with the bondo and such.i also think that this boombox would look incredible in midnight blue with lots of silver and chrome on it.
that being said black would be incredible too. cant wait to see it.i am sure it will be very impressive when it is done.

i think this box with that lighting coming from the middle of it with midnight blue would look incredible. there is just so many possibilities. for it to be amazing.

You should probably use fiberglass mesh or something similar. Your bondo will crack in no time..... something to think about

that is looking so good.
the metallic idea is a nice one. i like it.
the only caveat i would use would be if it needs to be touched up after the fact it could be hard to do.

there is other things you could do. it depends how much you want to spend.
one thing that could look simply amazing would be a
a interferance blue basecoat with a pearl over the top.
this kind of paint job just is amazing. it is not super hard to do but once again touch ups are very hard.
i think that if you did it midnight blue that the light from the screen would add some sizzle to it.
a couple of leds placed on the boomer could really look shap too.
the overall look of this boombox is really coming along now.
it is so cool man.

i wonder how hard would it be for you to make molds of that case when you are done.
allthough that is a immense ammount of work.

i think that metalflake blue is gonna just be so nice on that boombox.
maybe a couple clear coats after the fact but i am sure it will look superb.

curious with this cool custom boombox. are you planning to put some deadening material on the inside of it to reduce resonances from the inside of the case.
